Giacinto Auriti

Giacinto Auriti (Guardiagrele, 10 October 1923 - Rome, 11 August 2006) was an Italian lawyer, essayist and politician. He became famous for his monetary theory on seigniorage and the many public initiatives led against private banking system and the Bank of Italy.
==Biography==
Giacinto Auriti was born in October 10, 1923. He graduated in Rome, where he taught maritime, international, private and comparative law. Auriti was among the founding teachers and dean of the faculty of law at the 'University of Teramo', which was established in 1993. He is the author of several texts of maritime law.
In the last period of his life, despite never having completed his studies in economic theory but starting from the topics covered by the American poet Ezra Pound, he founded the school of Teramo in the field of monetary law, developing an economic theory that means the coin as a measure of value and as such conventionally accepted by those who use it as a medium of exchange, thus becoming a "tool" of the exchange of goods (the theory of induced value of money). In its conventional character of those who reside on the right accepts the agreement, or the people, to demand its properties (properties of the popular coin). In this sense, the central banks that are the company private, according Auriti would derive undue profits from seigniorage on the issue of paper money, assuming responsibility for an important source of public debt. This theory draws more power from the abolition of the direct relationship between money (convertible into gold) and gold reserve, established by the Bretton Woods initiative of Richard Nixon on 15 August 1971, which would transform the 'business of issuing currency in a pure typography, emphasizing even more the conventional nature of the monetary value created by the acceptance of people of this Convention.
